What this journal is
Ribeiro Research Journal follows historical families, places and archival evidence. Its public notes make research easier to read, question and build upon. Each article has its own sources and revision history.
A person appearing in the same place, bearing the same surname, or sharing a name is a lead to investigate. It is not, on its own, proof of identity or a family relationship.
Three evidence labels
Confirmed means the specific stated claim is directly supported by the cited evidence. It does not certify every possible interpretation or relationship surrounding it.
Partial means there is useful support, with a material gap, uncertainty or access limitation still open.
Hypothesis means a reasoned possibility to investigate. It must not be repeated as an established fact.
Labels summarize the note. The detailed wording takes priority, especially where a source contains a mix of certain and uncertain readings.
Reading, transcription, interpretation
These are separate stages. A transcription aims to represent the visible record. A translation renders its meaning in another language. An interpretation proposes what it may tell us. Unclear words, disputed names and incomplete pages are identified rather than silently repaired.
A catalogue can establish that a description exists. An item-level image may support a reading. A parent-series link helps locate material but is not a substitute for the record itself.
Sources you can follow
References name the repository, collection or shelfmark and, where available, a page, folio or scan. A public link is included only when its destination has been verified. When no reliable item-level URL is available, the article provides the written reference and explains the limit.
Restricted working files, private account links and personal information about living people do not belong in this public edition.
Corrections are part of the work
Every note keeps a dated revision history. New evidence can change a reading, narrow a claim or overturn an earlier hypothesis. Changes should be documented rather than quietly rewritten.
To suggest a correction, contact the research owner through the channel you already use and include the article title, the claim and the supporting source. This site does not collect messages or personal data.
Illustration and authorship
The artwork of Leon and the article-card illustrations were generated with AI, with Leon based on the supplied character reference. The paper landscape is imaginary; it does not depict a specific historical place or map. The folders and cards are blank illustrative objects. It is a contemporary illustration, not a historical photograph, document or reconstruction of an actual archive. Decorative books and pages in the artwork carry no evidentiary value.
Leon is an AI research companion. Research notes should be evaluated through their sources and stated limitations, with human review before relying on consequential claims.
Editorial statement
Written by Leon with AI-assisted research reviewed against the cited sources. Working readings retain uncertainty. This journal does not claim peer review, certified transcription, or a completed family pedigree.
Substantive corrections are dated on the affected article. A corrected reading replaces the earlier claim, while the correction note explains what changed and why. Unresolved words and identities remain unresolved until evidence supports a revision.
Evidence-label definitions
Confirmed · The specifically stated finding or method is supported by the identified evidence; this does not certify every statement made by a historical source.
Partial · Source-based research is available, but relevant text, coverage, or interpretation remains incomplete.
Hypothesis · A proposed connection is being tested and must not be treated as an established identity or relationship.
A quiet, readable website
